Bolt says it is looking into launching a food delivery service in three countries globally, including South Africa.

The company has removed 'taxi' from its brand and will now use the name it has been using for it's electric scooter service.

JOHANNESBURG - Ride-hailing service Bolt, formerly Taxify, says it is looking into launching a food delivery service in South Africa, Estonia and Finland. Bolt will allegedly use it's existing base of drivers across the country to take on rivals Uber Eats and Mr D Food.The company recently re-branded as it looks to expand the business beyond just a car-only hailing company.

It is still unclear when the company will officially launch the food service but news of the app has caused a stir on social media.
