More famously known as the warm-natured vendor selling ice-cream at the Newlands Cricket Stadium, but also a Cape Argus employee, Moegamat “Boeta“ Cassiem has passed away.
Cassiem died on Thursday following a long illness and was buried the same day, according to Muslim traditions.VIDEO: Ian Landsberg/African News Agency .

He worked for the Cape Argus many years ago and he worked here for a very long time.
“Cape Town has lost one of those colourful people that make up part of the City. May his soul rest in peace. All the accolades have been given to Boeta Moegamat and we as a newspaper, we can say that we are truly saddened to have lost somebody like him.”
