Revenue fell 35% from the second quarter of 2018 to $15.75 billion, as the Chicago-based plane maker delivered only 24 older models of the 737, its bestselling plane. Boeing has a backlog of 4,547 orders for the 737 MAX. The 737 MAX has been grounded worldwide since the crash of an Ethiopian Airlines flight in March, the second fatal crash of a 737 MAX inside of five months. Boeing has continued to churn out 737s, dropping production to 42 a month in April from 52, but deliveries of the MAX have been frozen while it works to gain regulatory approval for software and training revisions to return the plane to service.
