Officers from Police Scotland have confirmed the body of a man was recovered from the water at at around 4pm on Saturday.
Earlier we told of a huge emergency response in Glasgow amid reports of a body in the water. Crews raced to Clydeside in the city centre after the alarm was raised near the George V Bridge at 9.45am on Saturday, April 27.
Images from the scene earlier today showed the area cordoned off by police with dive units in attendance. Top news stories today A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 9.45am on Saturday, April 27, 2024, we received a report of a body in the water near the George V Bridge in Glasgow.
