Body of man in his 40s found on derelict land in Ancoats close to the city centre
The body of a man was found on derelict land in Ancoats, close to the city centre on Sunday afternoon . The male, thought to be aged in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
At around 6.30pm, a private ambulance arrived at the scene and a body, on a stretcher, was placed inside. Police have since confirmed that a male, believed to be in his 40s, was pronounced dead but that it is not being treated as suspicious at this time. Photos from the scene on Sunday show numerous police cars in attendance at the entrance to the closed-off site, with an ambulance and CSI van also parked up. Police had initially been called to concern for the welfare of the man before he was declared dead a short while later.
