An abandoned newborn was tragically found dead in a bin in the Pietermaritzburg CBD in Durban on Friday afternoon.

Spokesperson of ALS Paramedics, Garrith Jamieson, said: “Paramedics assessed and found it was actually two foetuses, believed to be twins, and unfortunately there was nothing more paramedics could do for them and they were declared deceased on scene. A search for the mother is under way.”in the Durban area has surged. He urged the public to approach the necessary authorities. They can hand the babies over to them instead of dumping them.
