BMW has taken the wraps off the M3 CS Touring, a limited-edition performance estate that slots in as the second most powerful combustion engine BMW wagon ever produced. The M3 CS Touring builds upon the standard M3 Touring, offering enhanced performance and a distinct design language.
BMW has unveiled the M3 CS Touring, a limited-edition performance estate that sits behind only the M5 Touring as the most powerful combustion engine BMW wagon ever produced. Building on the standard M3 Touring, the CS variant boasts enhanced performance and styling cues. Set to debut at the Bathurst 12 Hours in Australia this weekend, the M3 CS Touring distinguishes itself from its standard sibling with several key design elements.
These include matte black or gold bronze 19-inch front and 20-inch rear M light alloy wheels, a frameless M3 CS-specific kidney grille with red pinstripes and black accents, M3 CS badges, and yellow bulb Laserlight LED headlights. The exterior also features extensive carbon fiber components, including the mirror caps, side skirts, front lip spoiler, diffuser, rear apron, bonnet, and side intakes. This extensive use of carbon fiber contributes to a claimed 15 kg weight reduction compared to the regular M3 Touring.Underneath the skin, the CS benefits from chassis revisions derived from the conventional M3 Touring, including electronically controlled adaptive M dampers, retuned M Servotronic power steering, a titanium exhaust system, and the same die-cast aluminum strut brace as the sedan. The optional M Carbon ceramic brakes, identifiable by either red or gold calipers, are also available. The M3 CS Touring retains the standard M3 Touring's practicality, with a boot space ranging from 500 liters to 1,510 liters with the rear seats folded down. Powering this performance estate is the uprated S58 3.0-liter turbocharged straight-six engine, producing 405kW of power and 650Nm of torque – a 30kW increase over the standard M3. This translates to a limited top speed of 300 km/h with the M Driver’s Package, a 0-100 km/h sprint in 3.5 seconds, and a 0-200 km/h time of 11.7 seconds. The engine is mated to a ZF-sourced eight-speed Steptronic gearbox, which can direct the power to all four wheels or just the rear axle in 2WD mode.BMW South Africa has confirmed local market availability, but only from the first quarter of 2026 in undisclosed limited numbers.
