Blue Mountain is the place to be this week to rock and roll for March Break.
I have to give huge congratulations to past and present Blue Mountain bosses for not only continuing founder Jozo Weider’s dream but taking Blue Mountain to new heights. I’ve had the pleasure of briefly meeting the current President/COO Dan Skelton, a cool dude with the right vibe to lead a good young team. He knows that snow making is key in Southern Ontario success with snow guns now covering 96% of their 43 trails over 364 skiable acres.
I continue to work with one of the best PR managers in the province, Tara Lovell, who tells me “all our success is a team effort, a collaborative effort with knowledgeable experienced people in each department all working together for the same goal; to give visitors the best experience we can deliver on and off the hills.” She goes on to say, “not everybody in the family skis or boards, so there has to be other cool activities to enjoy.”Article contentBlue Mountain delivers in that area too.
Last season was a successful test run, but now it is huge featuring three large domed tents with plenty of seating and large wood burning fire pits, a fully stocked drink station and an incredible menu, especially for a mountain top restaurant. I was blown away with the chef inspired specials like Smoked BBQ pulled pork Mac and Cheese, Moroccan Sweet Potato Sheppard’s Pie, South East Asian Beef Stew and Creamy Black Bean Curry.
