South Africa's rugby team, the Blitzboks, concluded the Dubai Sevens with a loss to France, ending their five-season reign as champions and marking a disappointing weekend in the desert.
The Blitzboks went down to France to end a disappointing weekend in the desert for South Africa on the final day of the Dubai Sevens on Sunday.
Tries from Donavan Don and David Brits powered the South Africans into a 10-0 half-time lead at The Sevens Stadium. Liam Delamare and Ali Dabo dotted down to restore parity after the break, before Blitzbok co-captain Zain Davids crossed the whitewash to reclaim the advantage for his team. However, a Varian Pasquet touchdown and Stephen Parez Edo Martin conversion completed the fightback from the French to secure a 15-17 win for the 2024 Olympic gold medallists.
Earlier, the Blitzboks’ five-season reign as Dubai champions was broken when they lost 24-17 to New Zealand in the cup quarter-finals. Philip Snyman’s charges will now regroup for the second leg of the new season back home in Cape Town next Saturday and Sunday.Whether you're traveling to catch a rugby game or just looking for a reliable ride, finding the right car is crucial.
