Police say they were alerted of the 28-year-old's possible impairment while leaving a venue in Elliot Lake

A 28-year-old Laird resident faces impaired driving charges following an incident in Blind River over the weekend.

Shortly after 10 p.m., the driver was stopped in Blind River where police determined they were impaired by alcohol, and as a result, Gage Franz was arrested and charged with operation while impaired.On July 16, 2022, shortly after 9 p.m., members of the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial police were dispatched to a possible impaired driver leaving a venue in Elliot Lake, driving southbound on Hwy 108 heading towards Sault Ste Marie.
