The town is set to be hit by heavy winds as Storm Agnes hits the county. The Met Office has issued a weather warning running from lunchtime until Thursday morning and warns of possible danger to life. Winds of up to 75mph have been forecast, with coastal areas like Blackpool set to experience the most severe of that. The Met Office forecast for today states: "A settled start though winds strengthening with the arrival of Storm Agnes.
"Severe gales possible, especially along the coasts and over the hills accompanied by outbreaks of heavy rain into the afternoon Maximum temperature 18 °C." It is expected to remain unsettled overnight with further outbreaks of heavy rain. Throughout the day, we'll be bringing you the latest news and updates on any incidents affecting the city's roads.
