Blackpool scrap metal thief drove over farmer's foot with children in van
A Blackpool man drove over a farmers foot while trying to make getaway with stolen sheep troughs. Hayden Bowers had children in his Peugeot Expert van with him at the time of the incident.
Farmer Paul Roberts had been checking his fields at Llys Delyn in Rhiw near Llansannan, and sheds belonging to a friend Hefin Gwyn Morris, when he noticed a white van, driven by Bowers, in a gateway.Bowers had just stolen several sheep feeding troughs and some aluminium flue pipes belonging to Hefin Gwyn Morris. Bowers was making his way from the compound towards the gateway but Mr Roberts became suspicious.
He was later arrested and admitted dangerous driving and theft. Simon Killeen, defending, said Bowers, of Lyddesdale Avenue, Blackpool, had come to North Wales with his partner and children and a friend. Mr Killeen added that during the incident involving Bowers in Rhiw near Llansannan, nobody was actually injured and it was over a short period of time. Bowers denied deliberately driving at another person.
