Toronto will have no shortage of events and celebrations to honour the legacy of Black Canadians and their communities as February marks the start of Black History Month.

, will host its 28th year “stimulating and thought-provoking” discussions and performances from Feb. 1 to Feb. 28.

The program will feature dances, music, workshops and literary events highlighting contemporary artists and thought leaders.On Feb. 4 from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., the Oakwood Village Business Improvement Area will partner with the Afro Caribbean Farmers Market to bringThis includes 20 to 25 vendors from the Oakwood Village and Toronto area, complimentary snacks from the BIA member businesses, a showcase of local Black-owned business stories, live music and more.

The Jean Augustine Centre for Young Women’s Empowerment has partnered with CIBC to deliver a morning of events including a film screening, dance performance, food and a Q&A with Augustine.Black History Month fundraising dinner On Feb. 11 at 5 p.m., non-profit Re-Build Me & Arch Angels Inc. will host vendors, music, performances, a silent auction and more to celebrate Black History, education and the arts.Black artists who represented Toronto at AFROFEST Africa 2022 in TanzaniaPresented by Music Africa of Canada Inc., artists will include Abeena Samm, Amanie Illfated, DOLOTHEGIFTED and Temi.
