Data coming in from Black Friday sales is showing that consumers have become much more conservative spenders.

Money was spent on things like long-life milk, toilet paper and air fryers.Some retailers say shoppers wasted no time restocking their pantries.

"Between high inflation and increased food, petrol and energy costs, shoppers are more motivated than ever to take advantage of Black Friday deals," said PayFast managing director Brendon Williamson.
