Brad Binder had a challenging second day of MotoGP testing in Malaysia, lagging behind teammate Pedro Acosta. KTM's 2025 bike drew attention for its unconventional rear spoiler, sparking debate about its aesthetics and potential performance gains.

Brad Binder, the South African MotoGP rider, struggled to keep up with his teammate on Thursday during the second day of testing at Petronas Sepang Raceway in Malaysia. Binder's teammate on the Red Bull RC16, sporting a newly installed spoiler, Pedro Acosta , finished the day as the seventh fastest rider with a time of 1:57.805. Franco Morbidelli claimed the fastest lap of the day for the Pertamina EnduroVR46 Racing Team with a time of 1:57.210.

The unveiling of KTM's 2025 season bike by Red Bull KTM drew attention, particularly to the rear spoiler which some found aesthetically unappealing. Social media users jokingly commented on the design, suggesting that functionality might have been prioritized over aesthetics. It appears KTM is also experimenting with mass dampers, indicated by the size of the spoiler. Perhaps looks were sacrificed for aerodynamic gains as Red Bull KTM pursues another World Championship title with Binder leading their Factory Racing team.Sepang presented its own challenges with rain entering the mix about two hours before the end of practice. The rain didn't significantly hinder the session, which unfortunately included some crashes. Six-time World Champion Marc Marquez was involved in an incident at turn 9 fifteen minutes before practice concluded, but he walked away uninjured. The two Red Bull KTM Tech3 riders, Maverick Vinales and Enea Bastianini, finished at the bottom of the leaderboard. Riders will have one final day of 'shakedown testing' on Friday to familiarize themselves with the 2025 bike before moving to the Chang International Circuit in Thailand later this month. Last season's champion, Jorge Martin, suffered a painful crash yesterday and was hospitalized for 24 hours according to Aprilia Racing. Speculation surrounding the cause of Martin's crash centered on the tire choice made by his team during testing, suggesting that a softer compound may have prevented such an early crash
