Gilmour Junior was released by Kilmarnock in the summer but could win a deal with the Seagulls if he impresses.
Record Sport understands Harvey Gilmour is currently training with the Seagulls’ development squad. The 17-year-old is a free agent after leaving Kilmarnock at the end of the season. The teenage midfielder is now looking to follow in the footsteps of his older sibling.
Scotland star Gilmour moved to Brighton last summer in a big-money move from Chelsea. He struggled to make his mark but under Roberto De Zerbi he has become more of a central figure for the English Premier League shock troops. They made their first ever European appearance on Thursday night as they kicked off their Europa League group stage campaign against AEK with a 3-2 home defeat.
That has seen him force his way back into Steve Clarke’s national squad. Gilmour junior is just at the start of his professional journey and is looking to take the next step. He came through the Killie Academy and had been within their ranks since he was seven. Brighton are no stranger to Scottish talent having signed the likes of Marc Leonard and have also been keeping a close eye on Queen’s Park keeper Callan McKenna.
