The Bills quarterback might have been caught off guard by the big move.
But not everyone was fully in the loop. Quarterback Josh Allen likely found out he was losing his top receiver at the same time the news was first reported.
Bills general manager Brandon Beane told reporters Wednesday that Allen was unaware the trade was actually happening and likely woke up to the surprising transaction just like everyone else. But Beane did saywith Allen throughout the offseason, and the quarterback knew there was at least a slight possibility Buffalo would part ways with Diggs.

Diggs, their top receiver for the past four years, is now in Houston.
Now, Khalil Shakir, Mack Hollins and Curtis Samuel are Allen's top three receivers on the depth chart. The Bills only have two selections in the first three rounds of the upcoming 2024 NFL draft at No. 28 and No. 60.
