Billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman has pledged US$3.25 million to help buy more than a dozen ambulances for Ukraine as it defends itself against Russia's invasion, according to a fellow investor who cited a conversation with him.

"I had breakfast with my college buddy Bill Ackman this morning, walked him through the attached slide deck I put together about my ambulances-for-Ukraine mission, and on the spot he agreed to donate US$3.25 million," Tilson wrote in the email, dated Feb 25.A spokesperson for Ackman could not be reached for comment. Tilson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
