Testifying Monday morning before the House standing committee on public safety and national security, Emergency Preparedness Minister Bill Blair denied allegations that he and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau pressured RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki to convince investigators to release information on the firearms used by gunman Gabriel Wortman during his two-day murder spree.

He said his role as public safety minister did not include directing operations of agencies under his portfolio, including the RCMP.
