“It just takes a lot of practice and patience with the process, and each experience in practice and on the court has contributed to the confidence and knowledge I have to be in that bigger role now. And all the people I’m surrounded with, all my teammates and coaches, are the main factor for that, and that’s why I’m super grateful to have them in the gym every day.”
“It had to go somewhere in terms of who was going to take it up, and Olivia definitely is building that trust in our setters to feed her the ball, so I’m looking forward to her volume potentially increasing and her becoming more confident and comfortable in that role,” said Dodds.Article content For her part, Mattern feels she is a different person, and different player, than that raw rookie five years ago.
