The search continues for an actress who can take on the role of iconic singer, Lebo Mathosa in a new TV series produced by BET Africa.

They were all hoping to land the lead role in a TV series about legendary kwaito artist – Lebo Mathosa.BET Africa held auditions– for the groundbreaking, locally produced television series. The waiting room was abuzz – with contenders practising their lines and dance moves as they waited for their numbers to be called.“I think I deserve to be the top one because I believe that I'm very good vocally and I'm very dramatic. I love having fun”, said a contestant.
With a younger and older Lebo being searched for here...Teenagers also gave it a try, as there was also of course, the very important part of it all...the acting and judges say they hope new talent is discovered.“I mean it’s a commitment I can’t make but we did open auditions for that reason. I would like that and I think a biopic is a really good place to start. If we find someone new, it would be absolutely beautiful”, said Mmabatho Montsho, one of the judges.
