A female bicyclist was ejected from the bike and died at the scene, authorities said.
A bicyclist was killed in a traffic collision with another vehicle Sunday afternoon, just south of Livermore, according to California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported at 2:34 p.m. and officers arrived on scene at 2:56 p.m., according to CHP officer Ross Lee. A driver in a 2010 Land Rover SUV was traveling south on Mines Road, near San Antonio Valley Road, while a bicyclist was traveling north on Mines Road. As the driver of the Land Rover was navigating a right-to-left curve in the roadway, the bicyclist was traveling the curve from the other direction.
The female bicyclist was ejected and died at the scene, authorities said. She was wearing a helmet at the time and CHP doesn’t believe alcohol or speeding were factors in the crash. No other injuries were reported.
