A bicyclist was struck and killed by an NJ Transit train in Montclair Monday night, officials said.in the area of Watchung Avenue near the Montclair station, an NJ Transit spokesperson said. The train had departed Hoboken in Hudson County at 8:58 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Hackettstown in Warren County at 11:07 p.m.
No other details were released late Monday night as NJ Transit Police remained at the scene to investigate the incident. Rail service remained suspended in both directions between Walnut Street and Upper Montclair as of 10:35 p.m.
