Multi award-wining musician Beyoncé has been immortalised in the French dictionary, Petit Larousse Illustré.
American superstar Beyoncé is known for making history. The 32-time Grammy Award-winning singer has broken yet another record as her name will be added in the French dictionary., Beyoncé mentions a couple of definitions of who she is: “I’m one of one, I’m number one, I’m the only one,” and “Category: bad b*tch, I’m the bar.”
As per the French dictionary, the mother-of-three’s name has been added as a proper noun in its 2024 update.The music artist, who is married to rapper Jay Z, is not the only international personality whose name was added in the dictionary. Her name appears among a list of 40 celebrities to be included to the issue. Others in the new book include Cate Blanchett, LeBron James, and Christopher Nolan.
“My name was Celestine Beyoncé, which at that time was not a cool thing to have that weird name. I wanted my name to be Linda Smith because those were the cool names.”Speaking about being immortalised in the dictionary for “bootylicious” at the time, she said: “I wrote the song, but I wish there was another word I could have come up with if I was going to have a word in the dictionary. “
