The new striker has a desire to score goals and says he wants to grow into a better player at Everton

Everton’s new striker Beto believes he and his new club can grow together following his summer arrival.

The Portuguese forward has enjoyed four good seasons in Serie A but thinks he is yet to reach his “prime”. Beto wants that pressure on his shoulders. His opening interactions with Everton supporters have already been positive and he ended the draw at Bramall Lane by taking in their applause as he handed his shirt into the away end. He knows they are desperate for someone to help provide cover and competition and, maybe, a strike partner, for Dominic Calvert-Lewin and hopes he can be that saviour.

"I want to improve. I want them to see that I’m fighting for Everton, this is so important for me - and I want them to celebrate my goals, lots of them. I’m a striker and I need to score.”
