Most days in Qatar start the same for Wayne, who got his start doing talent shows at Monsignor John Pereyma high school in Oshawa and now has more than 700,000 followers on TikTok. “You’re always kind of scouting to see where people fit in and you’re constantly moving. … You’re doing mic checks and you’re doing rehearsal checks and then the show starts.”— he’s asked the Star not to publish his real name because of online threats over other content he has on the platform — he was a millennial in Oshawa.In his mid-20s, Wayne tweeted that he was looking for a change. An opportunity came up to host a show in Smithers, B.C. for the Moose FM radio station.
Wayne developed a small following on TikTok of around 20,000 followers. Things were going well until he was run off the road by a drunk driver in 2021, wrecking Wayne’s car and putting him through physical rehabilitation.
