Luvuyo Memela's early strike was cancelled by Kwame Peprah's brace as Usuthu ended the year with a 2-1 defeat at Orlando Stadium.
"When you allow teams like these and you're backing off, you don't put pressure in key parts of the game, of course they gonna start finding gaps in between the lines and creating opportunities becomes evident," he said. "Compared to how solid we were against Sundowns and against Pirates just dropping off, maybe respecting them a lot or underestimating them because you beat Sundowns. The players understand about consistency and complacency," he continued.
