Bellevue Police Department received an initial report on Feb. 23, 2024, and initiated an investigation into the incident. The investigation happened over the following weeks after the report was received. Several alleged disturbing interactions between a 13-year-old juvenile suspect and a 9-year-old child, both of whom attended the Phoenix Gym for Judo training, were revealed from the investigation, BPD said. Police are withholding the names of those involved since they are minors.“If you believe you or someone you know may have been a victim of similar inappropriate behavior, we urge you to come forward and contact the Bellevue Police Department,” BPD said in a press release.
