Times have changed. Sutter is old school and old school is not what you want to be.
An irritating dinosaur who couldn’t relate well enough to his sensitive skaters in the age of easily hurt feelings.Ten or 20 years ago, players were players and generally “wouldn’t say boo.”Article contentNow the players want a voice and they have a voice and you have to listen to that voice.They didn’t want to come to the rink. They didn’t want to play for him. The joy was sucked right out of them.
Too bad some of the voices didn’t seem to spend an equal amount of time and effort speaking to themselves in the mirror.When hockey players can make more in one season than most Canadians make in a lifetime, you’d think it wouldn’t be hard for them to bring their ‘A’ game.
