Bell: Calgary CTrain stabbings — cleaning up the blood yyc yyccc

The blood and what they tell us is not going away and no amount of politician double-talk or head-in-the-sand denial from those who should know better will change that fact.Article content

The morning passengers standing on the platform a few hours after the double stabbing do not look at the blood. They look at their phones.Let us just say they look at some sorts suspiciously because what they see are individuals who are not all there. Individuals who are, in one way or another, losing their minds or have lost them. Individuals who look like they could harm them.Perhaps they haven’t heard the news. Then again, stabbings at a CTrain station do not surprise. In this case, those who are stabbed reportedly did not suffer life-threatening injuries.Still, reality is reality no matter how you slice it and it is far from a pretty picture.

A worker cleans up blood at the 4th Street S.W. CTrain station after an early morning multiple stabbing incident on Wednesday, March 15, 2023. A man and woman were taken to hospital in serious non-life-threatening condition.A 53-year-old woman at the CTrain station wants Calgarians to hear what it’s like travelling on the train. She knows people who don’t want to leave home and come back to work because they are nervous about doing so, especially when it’s dark.

He puts the bag of chips in his pocket, looks around and yells to all within earshot: “I condemn you! I condemn you!”Of course, he uses a word we don’t write out in full in the newspaper. The blood makes its way to 7 Ave. S.W., across the CTrain tracks, and goes south down 5 St. S.W.
