Tributes have been paid to the former music teacher at St Malachy's College who inspired students and help develop "first class musicians" across Ireland.

He has been described as an accomplished pianist and an outstanding teacher, who helped the college establish an "enviable reputation" in the world of music and inspired younger generations to pursue their talents.In a statement, St Malachy's expressed great sadness at his passing and highlighted a special moment in 2018 when he received a standing ovation for his first performance at the school in 23 years."Fr Kevin was Head of Music in St Malachy’s College from 1963 to 1995.

"He returned to the College in February 2018, after some 23 years, to perform in the College’s Alumni recital. On this occasion, Fr Kevin received yet another standing ovation and undoubtedly inspired the young students in their pursuit of musical excellence."
