A number of power cuts in part of East Belfast are currently affecting thousands of customers
The first of the faults were reported in the Sydenham area at around 9.44pm on Tuesday, January 3, with Northern Ireland Electricity saying the outage is due to an "equipment failure."
Around 3,169 customers are currently impacted by the outage, which is expected to be restored by 1am on Wednesday, January 4.A number of outages have been reported in the area surrounding the Old Holywood Road, close to Belfast City Airport, leading towards the Upper Newtownards Road. On their website, Northern Ireland Electricity said: "We are aware that some people are without power in your area and are assessing the extent of the fault."The fault is due to equipment failure."For all the latest news, visit the Belfast Live homepage here.
