A Belfast woman has been placing signs on public trails warning people of potential traps in the area after a dog was killed just off the trail system in Wright’s Creek.

This is the warning that is being posted by Petra Corlett of Belfast on P.E.I. trails. The action follows a dog that was killed in Charlottetown on Nov. 2 by an illegally set animal trap. - Contributed Jamieson added it’s highly unlikely the trap that killed the Charlottetown dog was set by a licensed furbearing animal trapper.
“The law is that you must have care and control of your dog,’’ Corlett said. “That does not necessarily mean you have to have it on a leash.’’
