A West Belfast woman has been given a devastating diagnosis, just months after she told her young children that mummy was cancer free.

Every day for six weeks, she had radiotherapy and then every Tuesday she went for my chemotherapy. Speaking to Belfast Live at the time Liathán described the radiotherapy as "soul destroying" and "horrific" as she had to leave her children, Eireann, 10, and Lochlann, 5.On November 10 2022, the Moyard woman learned that she was cancer free, news that brought tears of joy to her children's eyes.

Speaking to Belfast Live on Monday, her friend Grainne said: "It is awful. She is just so strong and fighting.The Go Fund Me reads: "Sadly after only six months of being being cancer free, Liathán got the devastating news that the cancer has returned only this time far more aggressive and unfortunately terminal leaving her only a few short months with her two young children Eireann and Lochlann.
