Our October beer review has a few different brews in the market along with some brewery news.
Bitter but without any big citrus notes. Hops are there with lime flavor but not tart or pithy. Has four carbs and 95 calories. Very sessionable at low alcohol but decent flavor. Solid brewery.Malty, caramel with slight cinnamon spice. It’s like a pumpkin ale, Oktoberfest beer and Christmas ale rolled into one. Spices are slightly restrained despite several different ones being used in the brew. It’s made with roasted butternut squash, cinnamon, clove and allspice.
Very smooth.As its name implies, it’s a dark lager and has a definite chocolate taste but no sweetness. Quaffable, and for those who think dark beers are heavy this proves otherwise. The brewery bills this as having “subtle caramel sweetness and coffee flavors,” but we’re sticking with chocolate.Lemon hits immediately and the hops stay with you on the palate and finish, but nothing crazy here in this IPA that has a surprisingly low 35 International Bittering Units.
