Images from ABC's upcoming production of BeautyAndTheBeast reveal the stacked cast in full costume, including Josh Groban as Beast and H.E.R. as Belle.
New images from Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration show off the lavish sets and costumes that the production uses to bring the classic story to life. The original Disney animated classic Beauty and the Beast premiered in theaters in 1991, adapting the classic French fairy tale by Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve into a full scale musical with songs by dynamic duo Howard Ashman and Alan Menken.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY ABC has shared a set of first-look images that shows off the cast in costume for Beauty and the Beast. This includes H.E.R. as Belle, Josh Groban as Beast, Rita Moreno as the narrator, Martin Short as Lumiére, Joshua Henry as Gaston, and Shania Twain as Mrs. Potts.
Although her co-lead Groban is also best known as a recording artist, he has much more acting experience under his belt. In addition to comedic cameos in shows including Glee, The Office, and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, the crooner has given more full-fledged performances in projects like the 2011 film Crazy, Stupid, Love. Twain has had a similar career trajectory, largely playing herself in projects including Broad City and I Heart Huckabees.
The other leads in Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration are more traditionally recognizable acting talents, both in Hollywood and in the world of musical theater. Moreno, for one, is a musical icon, being the only person to appear in both the 1960 and 2021 film versions of West Side Story. Short is similarly iconic in the comedy space and has most recently appeared in the hit Hulu series Only Murders in the Building.
