What it is: A new hair mask from John Frieda that promises to strengthen, protect and restore hair before or after lightening treatments. The product is designed to “restore damaged fibres,” according to brand materials.
Using Lemon Oil and BlondeMen technology, this Go Blonder treatment doesn’t work to lighten hair, but rather, it “creates millions of new bonds onto fragile hair.” Non-colour depositing, this product is both ammonia and peroxide-free. It is also listed as safe for use on natural or colour-treated strands. The products boasts a pleasant, fresh scent and is easy to work into one’s shower routine. Especially given the fact that it only needs to stay on hair for three to five minutes rather than a lengthier time like some masks. Our tester shampooed her freshly highlighted strands with a purple, anti-brassiness elixir, then followed with this mask.
The product rinsed well and didn’t leave hair feeling weight down. And, the morning-after result, was smooth, soft strands that felt noticeably more hydrated post-use.
