The beautiful riverside walk through quiet Lancs village with a stop at new wine bar thrown-in
One of the amazing things about Lancashire is it has a very long list of towns and villages to explore. And many of these boast a winning combination of scenic landscapes embedded in a historical setting.
Along the walk, you'll pass a quaint light railway attraction, enjoy a riverside stretch and be treated to views of rural pastures and beyond to the East Lancashire fells. One sign of this is the recent arrival of Lime Bar, a wine bar which has been attributed with sparking a vibrant nightlife scene not too far away in Penwortham. The business opened on Station Road last year, near to our start and end point at the Booth's superstore - and we're recommending a visit there upon the completion of the walk.
