Wednesday marks the completion of that process, with the final region to make the switch, BBC One South East.
The move means satellite viewers will no longer have to change channel to catch their local news when it's broadcast at 6pm on BBC One..Viewers with an old non-HD satellite box will have to get a new HD one to continue getting BBC One, whether they're on Sky or Freesat.Freesat viewers will have to buy a new box entirely - though the BBC is offering support to those who need it most.
