The broadcaster has been a trailblazer in women's football
The 38-year-old forged an impressive career in the game as she represented England from 2004 to 2017. The former right back also enjoyed stints at Arsenal, Birmingham and the Boston Breakers.
She said at her book launch last year: “I went back and forth on whether I’d actually be writing the chapter. But then it was one of those moments, I’m writing this book and I want to tell everything. I thought I’d be cheating you all if I didn’t put that in there. And for me, it’s like that first love story, I fell madly and deeply in love.
The sport star has become an icon for the LGBTQ+ community and has said she wouldn’t necessarily label her sexuality, explaining that she has had relationships with both men and women. Her love life hit the headlines in 2020 when she was spotted on a date with Coronation Street star, Sam Robertson, who plays Adam Barlow.
