Chris takes us back in time for BBC series Earth which looks at the history of our planet, but the presenter explains he never saw his career taking him onto television
Chris Packham is back on our screens with a brand-new ground-breaking five part series looking back at Earth’s journey over the last 250 million years and the dramatic moments that have shaped our planet.
“We’re all accidental broadcasters, I never wanted to be on TV,” Chris says. “Brian Cox was a scientist, Sir David Attenborough was running BBC Two, we drifted there. While Chris didn’t see this being his career path, his parents might have influenced it without him knowing. The BBC show Earth is unlike what Chris has looked at before as it takes a deep-dive into the planet’s past. Chris swaps live animals for fossils that unlock the Earth’s very dramatic history.
