Baylor beats South Carolina to return to Elite Eight. MORE: ncaaW
Didi Richards scored a career-high 25 points, and two key parts of the frontcourt — Kalani Brown and Lauren Cox — each had double-doubles for the No. 1 overall seed in the women's NCAA Tournament. Cox had 17 points and 14 rebounds while Brown had 18 points and 10 boards.
The Bears shot 52 per cent to win their 26th straight game and blow out South Carolina for the second time this season. "We're just happy to get to the Elite Eight at least, and make it to the Final Four eventually," Richards said. "This was their first time and to ask them to perform at a high level against a national championship-contender team was a bit much," Staley said."We didn't want to mention that, but when you actually have to decompress and look at it, it's hard for them to have to be able to do that at this level."
