The record Bundesliga champions have been heavily linked with England's all-time top goalscorer for most of the off-season. In recent weeks, rumours of the London native's prospective move to the Allianz Arena have only intensified as the two-time treble-winning institution look to fill the Robert Lewandowski-sized striker hole left behind by the Pole.
Now it seems the German outfit is edging ever closer to securing the services of the Tottenham Hotspurs man, who is approaching the final 12 months of his current contract with the Lilywhites. According to Bayern board member Uli Hoeness, the striker has made it clear he wishes to sign with Die Roten.
"Harry Kane has clearly signalled in all conversations that his decision stands – and if it stays, then we'll get him, because then Tottenham will have to buckle," the former Bayern president toldHoeness also claimed that he"didn't speak to Kane that often", but says that former club CEO"Karl-Heinz Rummenigge [has spoken to him] regularly and also Jan-Christian Dreesen and everyone who is now really active in the business.
"He wants to play internationally and luckily for us Tottenham will not be active internationally next year. "He now has another opportunity to come to a top club in Europe. What we all like: His advisors are also very pleasant in this case. Up to now, the father and the brother have always stood by what they promised. If it stays that way, that's okay."
