Sprinting sensation Bayanda Walaza has claimed that Matric was ‘scarier’ that competing in the Paris Olympics in this amusing clip…Olympic silver medallist Bayanda Walaza has claimed that waiting for his Matric results to be released was “scarier” than running in the Paris Summer Games.

Speaking to the media, an excited Bayanda revealed that he had passed Matric with a Bachelor’s Pass, the highest level in the National Senior Certificate. When asked if Matric or the Olympics was more difficult, he said: “In Paris, I could control it . But this was so scary”.According to Bayanda Walaza, he will now study Logistics at the University of Pretoria.

The teen has opted to stick with his South African coach, Thabo Matibedi, who works at both the high school and the University of Pretoria.“We want to make sure that he’s not just an athlete. He needs to qualify himself so that when he stops running, he must have a career, which is important to us.Coach Matibedi added: “Although many may view him as a senior, I still treat him as a junior athlete for now. We’re building a strong, unbreakable bond, and coaching him has been an absolute pleasure.
