Pioneer track and field standout Carson Hedlund is the Bay Area News Group’s boys athlete of the week for March 11-16.
In online voting that ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Hedlund had 40.63% to finish ahead of Woodside baseball player Trent Amoroso, who was second at 33.73%. Hedlund crossed the finish line first in the 1,600 at the Dublin Distance Fiesta, covering the four laps in 4:12.89. The Pioneer runner also placed third in the 800 in 1:55.76.
