The number of COVID patients in Bay Area hospitals reached 940 on Wednesday, just a few beds shy of the third highest surge in hospitalized patients so far.
Bay Area hospitals are dealing with what is shaping up to be the third largest wave of COVID positive patients yet as local public health officials once again urge residents to take extra precautions to stop the rapidly spreading virus.

The rest have what’s considered incidental COVID, meaning they were admitted for other reasons and also tested positive for the virus.
