City Council jammed the brakes on its plans to enact rules for greener, high performance buildings Wednesday, voting to delay implementation of the policy until more guidance comes from the provincial government.
But delaying the HPDS will cost people more in the long run,
“Ask any builder will tell you it makes more sense to build those things up front than doing expensive retrofits later. It’s a saving for residents.” “We have an opportunity to join other cities in being leaders on this front and it seems once again that we are being followers,” Devine said. “We’re falling far behind other cities.
