WB Animation Executive Peter Girardi has revealed Bruce Timm's approach to the upcoming Prime Video series Batman: Caped Crusader.
In an Annecy summary article by, Girardi noted that Batman: Caped Crusader is “everything that Bruce Timm wanted to do” in 1992’s Batman: The Animated Series that he couldn’t do because of its young audience.
“It’s everything that Bruce Timm wanted to do in the original series [the 1992 Batman, the Animated Series] but because it ran on a kid’s channel, he wasn’t able to do it,” Girardi stated. “So this definitely skews older. It’s more of his complete vision.” Batman: Caped Crusader was first announced back in 2021 and is billed as a more adult animated series focusing on the iconicWhile not much of the plot is known, it’s said to be a reimagining of the character that aims to bring things back to their noir roots and focuses on the earlier years of Batman’s journey through Gotham City as a crimefighter before he befriended Commissioner James Gordon and the GCPD.
