New set photos from Batgirl have emerged revealing BlackCanary Easter eggs strewn about Gotham City in the upcoming DCEU film.
New Batgirl movie set photos reveal Black Canary Easter eggs in the background of Gotham City in the upcoming DC Extended Universe outing. The film is set to explore the origin story of Barbara Gordon, a Gotham City Police officer and daughter to GCPD Commissioner Jim Gordon, as she becomes the titular vigilante. Development on the film has been in the works for five years, with Joss Whedon originally attached to write and direct before departing shortly thereafter.
Leslie Grace is leading the cast of Batgirl as the titular heroine alongside J.K. Simmons returning as Commissioner Gordon, Brendan Fraser as the villainous Firefly and Jacob Scipio in an undisclosed role. The film will also see the return of Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne/Batman, continuing his reprisal of the iconic DC Comics vigilante from fellow upcoming DCEU movie The Flash.
👀 a second #BlackCanary graffiti/art piece spotted on the set of #Batgirl pic.twitter.com/sPJKiqlRLKThe Black Canary Easter eggs featured in the Batgirl movie set photos should come as an interesting tease of the DCEU connections the film has planned for audiences. With The Flash set to properly bring Keaton's Batman into the Warner Bros.
It's also interesting to note that the Black Canary Easter eggs in the Batgirl movie set photos appear to feature the date November 11 in the corner of the posters. At the time of writing, the film currently has no set release date outside of sometime in 2022 on HBO Max, but while this date could be a hint towards when it arrives on the streaming service, it does seem highly unlikely given The Flash is set to hit theaters the week prior.
