As SooToday reported earlier this month, Batchewana First Nation is testing out a four-day work week for its employees.The information below will be posted at various community buildings, and the above photo gallery contains more details about schedules and contact information.
Adopting a 4-day week is part of a growing movement centered on investing in employee wellness so that our staff members can be in a good place to provide service to others. This trial is modelled after a global pilot – the theme is 100% pay, scheduled 80% of the time, in exchange for 100% productivity.
Please see the attached schedule that includes a summary of hours for all BFN service areas as well as emergency contact numbers. We have asked each area to define types of situations that would constitute an “emergency” so please stay tuned for that information which will come directly from the various service areas.
